Hey, I'm Josh!

Josh started Durkee Insurance in 2022 to help service and protect families and businesses from financial problems when those you love and count on pass away.

Josh grew up in the Insurance industry riding New England country roads with his dad Kevin Durkee as he founded and grew The Durkee Agency. When Josh finished high school he earned an AAS degree in forestry from Paul Smith's College in the Adirondacks before entering the Marines where he met his wife.

Josh started working in the insurance industry in 2004 after finishing 5 years of service with the United States Marines. He worked with his dad at the Durkee Agency in Fair Haven, Vermont from 2004 until 2009. In 2009 Josh moved with his wife and daughter to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended Southern Polytechnic University, completing a BS of Civil Engineering Technology and a BS of Surveying and Mapping.

Upon graduation Josh worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a track maintenance supervisor. During this time Josh and his family lived in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Virginia. While working in Virgninia his wife Mercedez Durkee excepted a position as Verginia Tech, where she is now the executive chef of West End at Cochrane Hall.

When Josh's wife began working for Virginia Tech he returned to graduate school where he received an MBA from Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University. While leaving his position at Norfolk Southern and founding Durkee Insurance.
